Stefan Feth's philosophy is simple: "99% is not good enough." Feth (pictured, left) was a talented junior in his native Germany, winning the European junior championship at 17. A contemporary of Timo Boll, Feth never attained his more decorated countryman's world #1 status. Feth peaked at #136 before retiring from international competition at age 26. Feth then moved to California's Bay Area to focus on coaching. Now 40, Feth has found his footing in his new career at the World Champions Table Tennis Academy. Many of Feth's students have gone on to achieve national and international success, none more notably than Kanak Jha (pictured, right). In addition to winning the last four US men's singles titles, the 20-year-old Jha has already qualified for his second Olympic appearance this summer in Tokyo. Now, Jha will have a familiar face in his corner when the world #28 represents the Stars and Bars in Tokyo. USA Table Tennis (USATT) has just named Feth the US men's national team coach for 2021. "Team USA's health and the Tokyo Olympics are some of the major goals for 2021," said Feth. "Thanks to the continued support from all the clubs, coaches, and individual efforts - the future of US Table Tennis looks hopeful. I look forward to continuing the partnership with our national team players and USATT as I embrace the challenges ahead." No doubt, Coach Stefan Feth and his trusty charges will embrace said challenges with nothing less than 100% effort.
