Sean O'Neill has done it all. Now he wants you to have your turn. The United States' first table tennis Olympian in 1988, O'Neill has traveled the world representing the Stars and Stripes. The five-time US men's singles champion currently serves as the High Performance Director for USA Table Tennis (USATT). In this capacity, he wants you to know about a chance to do your country proud. This year, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) is launching its new commercial enterprise, World Table Tennis (WTT). A bold restructuring of international competition, WTT promises big money and a dramatically expanded global audience. Although the long-awaited rollout has been hampered by COVID-19, November's soft opening at WTT Macao proved it to be a viable model, even during the pandemic. Now, the real test begins with the WTT Middle East Hub this March 3-13 in Doha, Qatar. The WTT Contender tournament will run March 3-6, offering $200,000 in prize money. After a one-day respite, action resumes with the WTT Star Contender, March 8-13, sure to attract even more top talent with a $400,000 purse. Any players from the United States who wish to participate in this historic occasion need to contact Sean O'Neill by January 14 with the necessary information, available via the link below. Sean O'Neill capably carried Betsy Ross' signature stitchwork on the international stage for decades. Now, he is passing the torch to you. Don't drop it!
