Last year, the ITTF unveiled its new slogan, “Table Tennis. For All. For Life.” It has proven to be more than mere marketing. To the contrary, the world's governing body for table tennis is taking tangible steps toward increased inclusiveness. For example, the long-standing paralympic table tennis program will now open its doors to the International Federation for Athletes with Intellectual Impairments (INAS). Athletes competing in the 2019 INAS Global Games, to be held this October in Brisbane, will earn the ranking points necessary to compete as class 11 players in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. "We are absolutely delighted to achieve this historic milestone thanks to a great partnership with the ITTF," said INAS President Marc Truffaut. "We want the Global Games to be an important stop on the calendar, especially as they always take place in the year before the Paralympics." With this noteworthy action, the ITTF is proving its commitment to truly making “Table Tennis. For All. For Life.”
