"Blest are those whose blood and judgment are so well commingled," mused the titular melancholy Dane in Shakespeare's "Hamlet." As it turns out, the perfect mix of blood and judgment is found at table tennis club in Kosovo. Priping TTC, located in Kosovo's capital city of Pristina, was moved to hear that many affected by the COVID-19 pandemic were in need of blood transfusions. They did not hesitate to offer the very lifeblood from their veins to help. "We as a club are donating blood for people infected with the COVID-19 virus," said club director Nehat Çitaku. "We will make this activity annually in our club." The gesture was very much appreciated by National Center of Kosovo for Blood Transfusion. "We thank you for this much needed initiative in this time of pandemic," said Bukurije Zhubi, the center's director. "We are very grateful for the contribution of every citizen who donates blood." This is not the first time the Priping TTC has stepped up in response to a disaster. Last November, a deadly 6.4-magnitude earthquake rocked neighboring Albania. 55 players from the club promptly organized a fundraiser called "Pray for Albania, Play for Albania," raising 27,500 euros for their neighbors in need. Clearly, giving is just in their blood.
