Celebrities lead crazy lives. While constantly traveling around the world to make movies, music, and other mischief, they are hounded at every turn by fans and paparazzi. With such stresses, it is no wonder that so many famous folks find coping mechanisms. Of all the abundantly available addictions, however, there is one in particular which has an alarming number of A-listers in its clutches. Yes, good people, I'm talking about the hard stuff: table tennis. For most, it starts innocently enough. Perhaps they are at their first big Hollywood party. Star-struck, they can't believe they are rubbing elbows with actual famous people. Then someone says, "Hey, want to have a little fun?" and breaks out the ping-pong. For most, it is a youthful indulgence. For those with a certain brain chemistry, however, it can quickly become a lifestyle. Here are a few such people who were brave enough to share their stories. Harry Potter actors Daniel Radcliffe (pictured), Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are all noted table tennis wizards. Pop star Justin Bieber has been seen practicing in real table tennis clubs with real players like Anastasia Rybka. The southpaw from north of the border has gone so far as to demand a ping-pong table be set up backstage when he tours. When he gets a net or an edge, we can only hope this nice Canadian would have the decency to say "Sorry." Actor Edward Norton has trained with table tennis coaches in China, putting the finer touches on his "Hulk smash." Talk show hosts Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Fallon are both notorious table tennis enablers, even peer-pressuring unsuspecting guests to engage in reckless table tennis behavior. Fallon also tells of a mystical encounter with the late, great musician Prince, who reigned supreme on the table. All the paddle-wielding celebrities, however, must bow to the queen of the scene, Susan Sarandon. The Oscar-winning actress founded SPIN, the trendy table tennis-themed bar in New York which is now an international franchise where even more famous people can indulge in their habit. This list, while impressive, is far from exhaustive. If you are a celebrity, or are at risk of becoming one, please take these cautionary tales to heart.
